Jimmy Evans (he/him) is the video editor for Environmental Health News and the Daily Climate.

Jimmy graduated from the University of Florida's documentary production program in 2017, where he created his thesis film Naturally Selected about a struggling environmentalist fighting climate change in Miami Florida. He's also created videos for conservation and public health focused non-profits in the southeast US and Latin America.

Jimmy has also worked for several film festivals, and in 2017 founded the Gainesville Latino Film Festival's short film competition to highlight emerging Latin American filmmakers. In 2020 Jimmy began working as a video news journalist for international outlets such as Ruptly Media, News2share, and the AFP. From 2020-2023 he covered breaking stories all over the U.S., including the Black Lives Matter protest movement, COVID-19, mass shootings, and the 2020 elections.

Jimmy now lives in Jacksonville, FL, and in his free time likes to surf the Jax Beach break and kayak past alligators on the intracoastal waterway.
