LISTEN: What I learned investigating BADGE — BPA's evil cousin

"BADGE is pretty nasty stuff."

Over the past year, we’ve been reporting on a chemical called BADGE – or BPA’s evil cousin. Most people have heard of BPA, but researchers say BADGE, is leaving scores of workers, artisans and individuals at risk.

Today senior editor Brian Bienkowski speaks with freelance reporter, Meg Wilcox, who has been investigating BADGE for EHN. She talks about why BADGE is concerning, who is most at risk, and why it’s falling through the regulatory cracks.

And finally she talks about where she has found some hope and optimism in her reporting when it comes to tackling exposures to BADGE and other chemicals like it.
