Brian Bienkowski (he/him) is the senior news editor at Environmental Health News and the Daily Climate. Brian holds a master's degree in environmental journalism and a bachelor's degree in marketing from Michigan State University. He has more than a decade of environmental reporting and editing experience and has won awards from the Society of Environmental Journalists, the Association of Health Care Journalists, and The Aronson Social Justice Journalism Awards.
Throughout his career Brian has also led efforts to bolster science communication and literacy. He has worked with scientists from various environmental health disciplines on outreach efforts and has lectured graduate-level classes on science communication. He is currently the editor of the Agents of Change in Environmental Justice program, a collaboration between Environmental Health News and Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
He lives with his wife, Dani, and their four-legged friends in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Together they run an organic farm focused on saving seeds. Brian is also an avid distance runner, cyclist and musician.
